Life on the street by =jadedPhotographer The crows add to this disturbing and shocking image a further bad omen. The impact of this image goes beyond my ability to express it... ( Featured by myraincheck )

very striking and purposely shocking picture. There are three people (one a child for sure) and three crows (one for each - depending on culture, I don't think crows are symbols of anything good, and I'm assuming these are crows). It's a photo that records fact but there's a touch of irony: look at the store's window, promising gold winning songs and discounts, forcing the viewer to re-evaluate priorities: security and food in the face of worldly entertainment.
I can't help but read the words from the three windows (of course I'm picking the words): life award, rock (hard ground) never sounded this good...
I was curious so looked up crows and what they symbolize in Hindu folklore: The crow is a symbol of caution; it warns all beings of incoming danger and thus serves the role of a protector and preserver;

One of the reasons I don't want to go to India.

That's not a valid reason.
There is a lot of beauty in india.

I never said there wasn't any beauty.
Any reason that deters me from going is a valid reason.
The possibility alone of being jostled by vendors (aka people trying to sell me crap), the high incidence of crime (caucasian tourists being a prime target for pickpocketing and scams), the more than occasional filth, the subpar hygiene of people and places, one moment you are walking through a beautiful flower filled street and next you are overtaken by a wall of odour/smell that rots away at your sinuses.

i'm really disappointed by most of the comments which are focused only on the aesthetic aspect of this photography and forget the suffering of these homeless

that's always the same problem when you discuss with artists...

you see imaginary like this and you ask yourself if you need to
redefine the word "humanity" when so few have so much, and so many have so little

God is propitiatory and owned by multiple corporations fighting over copyright infringement.
Gimp does not have the features (16bit colour) to shoop god, silly. You will have to wait for version 3.

The amount of details in this image is amazing.
The viewer wonders if these are corpses or alive people.
A bitter taste is what's left after few minutes...
Congrats on your feature, I wish such scenes did not even exist.
But they do and we should be aware of them.
And of this of course!
